Featuring a new cast of characters, the Amazing Miss Rose, the wonderful Alphonso and his performing pooch and Berta the cross dressing tightrope walker ‘The Show Must Go On’ is a fresh and fun extension to the Acts of Daring series.
Celebrating the live performances that have thrilled audiences since the 18th century, ‘The Show Must Go On’ brings the extravagant costumes, colours and buzz of the Big Top straight to the table. In her elegant ballerina outfit, the Amazing Miss Rose combines beauty and bravery with her amazing acrobatic feats on horseback and the high-wire, while Alphonso keeps audiences enraptured with his comedic clowning and cute canine chum.
Melody Rose founder Melanie Roseveare says ‘As a child I was fascinated by the circus and wanted to capture that atmosphere and showmanship in this new collection.’
Beautifully handcrafted by a third-generation pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of English ceramics, ‘The Show Must Go On‘ collection includes plates in three sizes (dinner, lunch and dessert), a bowl, cups and saucers and a mug featuring Alphonso and pal and is also available in three colours: raspberry pink, cobalt blue and new forest green.
Designed with aesthetic flexibility in mind, individual pieces from ‘The Show Must Go On’ and other Melody Rose collections can be combined for a contemporary take on traditional tableware.
All Melody Rose tableware is finished with hand-gilded 22kt burnished gold that despite its delicate appearance is durable enough for the dishwasher.
Accompanying the tableware is a set of sumptuous The Show Must Go On cushions featuring ‘The Amazing Miss Rose’.
Made in the UK, the cushions are available in rich shades of deep berry red and lush meadow green and finished with golden tassels.
