Founded by acclaimed chef Björn Frantzén, the Frantzén Group has established a collection of award-winning restaurants and bars in Sweden and internationally, attracting a discerning crowd, who appreciate fine dining and dynamic design.
The Melody Rose x Frantzén collaboration began in 2021, when the acclaimed restaurant group selected the elegantly eccentric fine bone china tableware for its newly launched, Brasserie Astoria, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Our playful yet premium plate designs were chosen not only for serving the sophisticated cuisine to guests at Brasserie Astoria’s tables, but were selected by the design team, to feature across the walls.

Located in a former cinema, which dates back to the 1870s, Brasserie Astoria has a rich history as an ‘it’ spot for urban Stockholmers, which continues today. The vintage style of Melody Rose fine bone china tableware captures the essence of this era.
This successful union has since birthed a bespoke Melody Rose design for Frantzén, ‘The Bears’ – a charming series of motifs that pays tribute to the chef with a light-hearted take on his first name, Björn, which translates to Bear in English.

The delightful ‘The Bears’ tableware series now features at each of Brasserie Astoria’s world-class restaurants – and is exclusively available to purchase from Melody Rose and Frantzen’s stylish online store, alongside an edited selection of plates from across the Melody Rose collections. This includes Cycling Bear, Skating Bear, Balancing Bear and other much-loved designs.
Renowned for reviving the grandeur of 19th-century dining halls, each Brasserie Astoria is unique, offering a refined menu of brasserie classics influenced by the local cuisine and served with a side order of glamour.
