Four Favourite Festive Table Styling Tips from Melody Rose
It should come as no surprise that at Melody Rose HQ we love nothing more than a beautifully set table so we thought we’d share some of our favourite table styling tips for some inspiration this season.
Tip 1 – Bells and Baubles
When in doubt bring a little sparkle to the table.
Whether it’s a large celebration party or a small gathering there’s nothing better than adding a festive twist to bring some fun and joy to the table. We love mixing in a few baubles and bells in different sizes to add a really festive feel. As well as candles and candles sticks, you can also add small tea lights to bring extra atmosphere.
Tip 2 – Flowers and Foliage
Flowers are lovely but why not also use foraged winter foliage to add seasonal interest wherever possible. You can clip small pieces from the garden or gather on a walk. If that’s not possible, you can ask your local florist for branches and stems. We use mini vases, mini jars and little jugs to add layers for a very distinctive look. You can also create small bunches by gathering a few stems together with ribbon or string to make mini garlands on the table.
Tip 3 – Layering
Layering is one of our favourite way to create an individual look. Mix, match and layer your favourite designs to create your own unique setting. We add dinner plates from the In Colour collection or you can use pieces from vintage finds. Whether it’s matching sets or mixing patterns and designs there’s no rules and each table can be unique.
Tip 4 – Cutlery and Flatware
We like to use gold coloured cutlery to make it an occasion which also highlights the hand painted 22kt burnished gold trim on Melody Rose plates and bowls. Add linen or cloth napkins and dot mini vases with sprigs of foliage to add colour and interest.
